If we have the same likes and preferences, you would understand how much wine means to me. It’s a staple part of every celebration. It gives life to parties. And as Planet Grapes puts it, it’s “wine without the drama”—-my celebratory quote from now on! ^_^
Sinulog being the biggest party of the year was the perfect time to apply this clever saying. Planet Grapes kicked off the Sinulog weekend with BBQ Wine Nights for people who want nothing but the right amount of alcohol, street food and good vibes. That’s the perfect formula for celebrating the festival the right way. I’m definitely one of the privileged to taste their imported wines straight from premium wine-producing regions such as New Zealand, France, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Portugal, Australia, North America and South America. These wines are differentiated by grape varietal. You can choose between reds, whites and rosés.
From January 15-17, Cebuanos and visitors from around the world took part in celebrating Sinulog week with us. In the afternoons we had cutting and styling Sinulog shirt sessions. I taught three ways to design: the typical rip-off across the upper chest or back top-to-bottom, the braids, and the diamond knot at the bottom of the shirt and sleeves. It was definitely one for the books as it was my first time to share a bit of my festive t-shirt styling skills.

At night, the BBQ was set-up and I went from an afternoon grind to an evening feast! Marco and I had red and white wine with Filipino comfort food: grilled pusit, chicken isaw, chorizo, quail eggs, chicken and corn cob. They prepared us a meal just the way we like it, strong and very Filipino!
You can check the rest of the menu here.
Thanks to everyone who joined in the celebration and a big thanks to the Planet Grapes team for entertaining us! It was indeed a home for foodies who take great delight in Filipino comfort food and international wines. Pit Senyor!
