If there is anywhere you’d like to binge-eat on desserts and not feel guilty afterwards, Fujinoya is the way to go.
Fujinoya’s Master Baker/Chef Hideo Goto impressively whips up a one-of-a-kind dessert cake set on a bento box, or AFTERNOON TEA SET as they call it. The sweet tooth in me is screaming with joy! 😀
Fujinoya is celebrating their 2nd anniversary by giving us the absolute reason to spend afternoons with friends over tea and desserts. With just Php 350, you can enjoy a set for two with coffee or tea. As a non-tea drinker, I never jumped into the tea craze, nor did I look forward to taking tea after a heavy meal. It just wasn’t my thing. Believe it or not, in just one sitting at Fujinoya, I completely fell in love with their authentic Japanese teas particularly the Genmaicha Japanese Tea with Roasted Rice! Part of me can now relate to the excessive pinning of tea pictures on Pinterest! hihi ^_^
Now for the best part: Before devouring the cakes, Master Baker, Mr. Hideo Goto, suggests a certain sequence of eating his cake set, from lightest to the boldest to fully enjoy each taste.
Sequence:
1. Matcha Shortcake – Another tea-based specialty; It’s satisfyingly light and healthy!
2. No-bake Cheesecake with Blueberry Sauce – Unlike other cheesecakes, this one has a light mixture of cheese and cream and isn’t too heavy. The fruit flavors are also served in a small amount to avoid overpowering the rest of the ingredients.
3. Fujinoya Special Chocolate Cake – The bold flavor of this cake is toned down by the whip cream on the side, making a perfect blend in the mouth. Yummy!!!!
With Chef Hideo Goto 🙂
You may also enjoy their improved eclairs in all their delectable and fancy looks. Each color has a different flavor glazed on top. Pink: strawberry, Green: Matcha, Caramel brown: Caramel, Chocolate brown: chocolate. Each eclair is stuffed with a mixture of custard, whip cream and vanilla bean, giving it just the right amount of fullness and sweetness!
